The 90-day eVisa
Most passports need an eVisa to enter Vietnam. The eVisa is usually valid for 90 days, with single or multiple entries. Some passports are visa-free, but usually for only 45 days, so people who want to stay longer apply for a 90-day eVisa too.
You can apply through the government website for around $25. The application is processed strictly โ community members report rejected applications and lost flights caused by minor mistakes during the application process. Many people therefore use a local agent.
| Processing time | Approx. price |
|---|---|
| 1 hour | $100 |
| 3 hours | $80 |
| 8 hours (1 day) | $70 |
| 2 days | $65 |
| 3 days | $60 |
| 4 days | $50 |

Plan B is flying to Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok (usually the cheapest flights) and running the regular or express process from there. Some agencies can issue a visa within a few hours at a higher rate.
