Journey 01 โ€” Live

Establish your daily life in Da Nang

Visas, a place to stay, getting around, paying for things and knowing where to go when you're unwell. The practical foundations, in the order you'll need them.

Neighbourhoods

Where to base yourself

Most newcomers start in My An / An Thuong and move once they know the city. There is no wrong first choice โ€” only trade-offs.

My An / An Thuong

BeachfrontCoworkingWalkableInternational

The main international and digital nomad area. Most coworking spaces, laptop-friendly cafรฉs, international restaurants and community events are here, and My Khe beach is a short walk away.

Best for

  • First stay in Da Nang
  • Walkable daily life without a motorbike
  • Beach access and morning swims
  • Meeting people quickly โ€” you bump into familiar faces

Trade-offs

  • The most expensive area per square metre
  • Avoid accommodation directly on the bar street if you want quiet nights
  • An Thuong is roughly 0.02โ€“0.04% of Da Nang's land area โ€” it is not the whole city

  • Quieter residential streets
  • Coastal road, hikes and the Lady Buddha area

Trade-offs

  • You will probably want a motorbike or regular Grab rides
